A long, bloody trip it's been

So the day before I left for costa rica, i almost cut off the skin on the end of my thumb off while i was drinking as a so-called going away party with my neighbors in Licto (lesson learned, don't handle sharp items while drinking...or ever). thankfully, i took decent care of it and its now healing alright (except some possible nerve damage...i can't really feel the tip of my thumb that much)...BUT i had my fair share of bad luck apart from the good healing of my sheared thumb. in other words, the wounds began accumulating. in quito, i nailed my knee on my friend tyson's bed's footboard, then my achilles started hurting in the airport for no good reason. then when those are just starting to feel a bit better, i get to the beach at night, can't find any place with open rooms, and i'm forced to talk about 1 mile down the highway at night...i was definitely afraid of being kidnapped, so what actually happened wasn't as bad as it could have been. that said, what actually happened was that as i was walking down the road, i happened upon a large hole in the road (about a foot and a half deep). Mind you I have my 50 pound backpack on at the time. So, i fell in the hole with my bottom half and stopped my fall with my hands (yet another bloody injury, no pun intended). After finally finding a hostel, i wake up the next morning to see the sunrise. After navigating a stretch of snake and lizard infested jungle (mind you, it's a pretty crappy hostel i found), i make it down to the beach to see the sunrise. the hard part about this 'beach' is that it's actually more of a coral reef. And, yes, you guessed it, i tripped and tore the skin off of the back of my foot. I'm now at another beach with my wounds beginning to heal again. i'm hoping this whole adventure doesn't repeat itself. If it does, i may start wondering if death is an imminent danger.

PS - Don't worry, mom, it's not all that bad. Plus, if it makes you feel better, you can just imagine that I made all that stuff up to sound cool.
PPS - this keyboard sucks so i left a lot of capitals out for ease of typing and may have made some other mistakes...give a brother a break, here.
